I really didn’t need that right now.

TEN PERSISTENT LIES AND ONE FACT ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH → lastpapist.blogspot.com

sweetandlovelygirl7:

“YOU CANNOT BE A FAITHFUL CATHOLIC AND REMAIN A ‘RESPECTABLE’MEMBER OF SOCIETY”

Everyone needs to read this. Everyone.

I’m just gonna reblog this again because everyone DOES need to see this because many people make incredibly ignorant assumptions about the Church that need to stop.

This is so, so, so good.

I don’t now how many of you have heard about Sexetc.org, because quite honestly I hadn’t until today, but I think this should be brought to the attention of all Christians:

There’s a group on Facebook that was recently brought to my attention because of my boyfriend called Boycott Texas in July until they stop supporting sexetc and their agenda. I didn’t know what sexetc was, so I went to the group page (that I just gave a link to). It will explain what the group stands for much, much better than I ever could, but basically it’s another website with a strong pro-abortion agenda.

Here’s an example I found on their website in the Crisis Q&A:

I just had unprotected sex. Is there anything I can do?

If a girl had unprotected vaginal sex with a guy in the last 120 hours (about five days), she can take emergency contraception (EC). EC is basically two high doses of certain types of birth control pills taken 12 hours apart. It is NOT an abortion; it helps to keep a girl from getting pregnant.

This website is giving girls the impression that the Plan B pill is somehow different than an abortion.

They also have a page that includes sex terms. Try and tell me that this definition isn’t slanted:

Abstinence-Until-Marriage Programs

Programs that teach teens to wait until they are married to havesex. Usually includes no discussion of contraception, except to say it doesn’t work. Teaches that sex outside of marriage is emotionally and physically harmful. For a full discussion seeAdvocates for Youth.

Sexetc.org has quite a following, and some bigger name bands involved in their Take Action tour, such as Silverstein. What bothered me the most was that Hot Topic is the organization that’s presenting this tour.

I haven’t shopped there for a while, but I’m done with them now as well.

Here are some of my favorite stores for pretty, modest finds. Bear in mind that some of these stores can be on and off in selection, depending on season and sales and stuff. http://www.oldnavy.com/ http://www.gap.com/ http://www.jcrew.com/index.jsp Look around at Target, too, if its in your area. Plus, check out this blog: http://modestia.stblogs.com/ The author is a Catholic modest woman and she provides a wealth of modest clothing store links. Hope this helps! Have a blessed day

I am definitely going to check all of this out. Thank you so much!

Hi :) I love your blog! I'm catholic too! I love jesus. :) I love stumbling upon someone on tumblr who loves him too <3

Thank you! Yes, there is something exciting about it. Tumblr has given me the best little community to run to when I need to be reminded that there are other Catholics who feel as strongly for the Church as I do.

Attention to all of my modest Catholic tumbler family members:

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m getting a college wardrobe ready. I’m going to college in Florida, so I want some nice skirts.

I’m eighteen and not anywhere near outgrowing the junior’s sizes. Know any stores that I can check for some nice modest skirts that don’t swallow me? Keeping in mind that I’m five foot four and all torso.

Thanks in advance!

I hope you're not offended by the posts. I really how the differences in our beliefs hasn't taken our ability to get along quite right. Also, I really like your perspective on things.

Thank you so much for the kind words. (: I enjoy your blog quite a bit. I’ve never read anything by you and been offended. I’m glad that my posts make you think. If you don’t mind my saying so, you’ll be in my prayers!

I haven’t been on Tumblr in days because of Prom and Solo and Ensemble and the concert on Monday and saying goodbye to my boyfriend yesterday.

So. Busy.

Watch me struggle to get caught up.

May 11, 2011
1. Good luck at solo ensemble tomorrow! 2. It occured to me that it's almost like we're switching places... I'm going from a Catholic high school to a very secular college... and you're going from a secular high school to a Catholic college... 3. Are you excited for prom or what!? Maybe I'll see you... because all of the proms ever are right next to each other tomorrow... 4. I'm glad you get to see your boyfriend again!

1. Thank you! (: I hope that you did well on your pieces.

2. That’s true. It’ll be interesting to see what happens from here. I know that I’ll feel so relieved to take a break from the attitudes in a secular school. I’m positive that having been at a Catholic high school will make you that much stronger when you go to college.

3. I was totally psyched for prom! But completely forgot to look for anyone from other schools. Lucia was there, too, but I didn’t find out until today. I was thinking that we couldn’t go back and forth, so I didn’t even try.

4. Ahh, me too! It’s been sooooo long.

I got to bring my prom dress home today!

I also started day one of my new “college wardrobe.” I only got a scarf and a belt, but I really have this idea of a more vintage, feminine, mature look starting in the fall. Since I’m going to school in Florida, I shouldn’t have too hard of a time with the temperature.

I want some summer dresses that actually go to my knees! And don’t make me worry about bending over. It’s really hard to find them around here, but I will do it.

That also means giving away a lot of old clothes. It’s a very hard thing for me, but other people need them more than I do.

Solo and ensemble in three days!

I’m also seeing my boyfriend this Friday for the first time since February. No big deal or nothin’.

Also, I love following so many Catholics. I feel like I’m in a little family where everyone understands me, for the first time in forever. I hope life at AMU feels exactly the same.

It’s fitting that the news of Osama bin Laden would be confirmed and revealed on Divine Mercy Sunday.

Death is never something that should be rejoiced. The security from the threat that he imposed is definitely something to give a sigh of relief for, but that it had to end in his death, especially since the state of his soul was in no where near an admirable condition, is not a good thing. He will reflect the 3,000+ Americans he killed on the 9/11 terrorist attack. His judgement will not ignore a single life that he took.

Fellow Christians, please join me in praying for this man. Love thy enemies. I mean it. Christ meant it.

Heavenly Father, have mercy on Your son.

It’s official!

Blessed Pope John Paul II.

I’m totally stoked.

Also, there are like, five-thousand pictures of Disney World on my dash. It’s making me want to go there again really, really, really, really badly. But it also reminded me of a thought I had yesterday: I’m going to a school in Florida! I could legitimately plan a weekend with friends to go to Disney World. It not gonna be in my back yard or anything, but it’s a heck of a lot closer than Wisconsin is.

Edit: totally just google mapped it. It’s 3 hours and 15 minutes. I’m going to take a longer drive to go to Great America this summer. For real!
